Warrane Mornington Neighbourhood Centre and Warrane Community Garden are part of the Tasmanian Neighbourhood Houses Network, engaging and supporting our community as place-based using a community development approach. We support our communities to thrive by encouraging participation in diverse activities that seek to build self-belief, experience, and capacity. As trusted and valued community hubs we engage with community stakeholder agencies to support various service provision and referrals to essential services.

Our Board is a mix of Community representation and skills-based membership with a contemporary constitution and strong cooperative culture, meeting bi-monthly, with occasional special meeting commitments.

Successful candidates will assist in leading and developing the organisation and support management, staff and volunteers in delivery of strategic priorities, as determined in a contemporary strategic plan working closely with an evolving community and skills-based board membership.

We are currently seeking a President for our Board of Governance, with the following or similar experience. Essential: o Previous Leadership roles o Governance Experience o Previous Board membership o Strong local networks

Desirable: o Experience leading a board o Community Sector Experience – desirable o Human Resources experience – desirable. o Advocacy experience
